Talking Therapies

Treatments that do not use medication to help a person with their mental ill health are called 'talking therapies'. People can be prescribed medication and still have these therapies at the same time though.

The therapies detailed in the following pages are all 'talking therapies' but each will happen in a different way.

You can download a very helpful booklet about talking thereapies which has been written by the Mental Health Foundation here. This is not designed specifically for learning disability but is easy to read.
