Personality Disorder can be one which people have all the time for their whole life.

It can effect the way they think and interact with others around them.

It is very hard for people with a personality disorder to have and make friends.

Personality Disorder means lasting patterns of perceiving, relating to and thinking about the environment and oneself. It does not change over time and leads to distress or impairment, problems with cognition, affectivity and interpersonal functioning or impulse control.

The diagnosis is becoming more common for those with a learning disability but it is still unusual due to the difficulties of assessment.
